SOKYMATHIS

THE FLOATING CONTINENT - Performative Geology & Ritual (2025-26)

SOKYMATHIS is an immersive installation and ritual performance that constructs a floating post-national continent from Hudson River soil, human ashes, phenolic microspheres, air gel, and boat resin. Through ceremonial material transformation in water, the work enacts performative geology — a living archive of memory shaped by indifference and the dissolution of borders. Site-adaptive for galleries, museums, and natural environments.

RHEMALIA

coincident biotic-abiotic waves (2025-26)

RHEMALIA is an immersive installation in which strands of human hair float suspended in a clear water tank. The work creates a direct encounter between individual memory traces and water’s four-billion-year acausal archive. Through this non-human medium, hair becomes a site where personal recollection and Epekimnesis — water’s indifferent capacity to retain — coexist without hierarchy. Site-adaptive for galleries, museums, and contemplative spaces.

SYMNEMORIA

Participatory Performance • Epekimnesis & Water’s Indifferent Archive

SYMNEMORIA is an immersive participatory performance centered on several large water tanks. Participants inscribe personal words, signs, or drawings on Epekimnesis Parchment — a water-dispersible paper — which is then submerged and dissolved completely in water. As the notes disintegrate, inks and forms release acausally into the water, creating emergent patterns that are projected live onto surrounding screens. The work stages a collective encounter between individual expression and water’s indifferent, unintentional archive. Designed for audiences of 50 or more.

ABIOJAM

Eroded Form • Vegetal Emergence & Abiotic Process

ABIOJAM is a large-scale sculptural installation composed of layered, eroded concrete-like strata embedded with stones and organic residues. From its fractured, dripping surfaces emerge living grasses and mosses, creating a tension between geological decay and vegetal resurgence. The work stages an encounter between abiotic erosion and biotic emergence, presenting a post-natural form in which human-made matter begins to host and sustain life.

ABIONOESIS

STRONGILOTEA • thought has abiotic origin

ABIONOESIS names exactly the claim placed at the center of STRONGILOTEA: thought that is abiotic in origin, enacted only through a biotic brain. Reality has no organ of thought of its own; it uses the human sensorium and the human mind as the site in which its tracing becomes thought. Epekimnesis is one such abionoetic event. STRONGILOTEA is the proof that the event is occurring — the moment the biotic eye captures the abiotic rounding and, in that capture, reality thinks.

ARCHEA GRAMMIS

Sensory apparatus • Perceptual intervention installation

Human reality is what the senses deliver. Everything we think, feel, remember, and know is built on that delivery. If the sensory frame changes, the reality that depends on it is no longer secure. ARCHEA GRAMMIS is an experimental apparatus that uses the smartphone as a portable organ. The image and the sound are continuously deformed into a low-pressure audiovisual continuum. The work does not claim to give the viewer the senses of any ocean species. It interferes with the human sensory baseline itself.

Persona Oceanica

The two hands are a temporary primordial pool.

The water—its molecular structure, surface tension, dissolved ions, temperature—meets skin, microbiome, tears, and photoreceptors whose deep evolutionary homologies trace to aquatic environments. The “revival in the mind” is not psychological or representational; it is phylogenetic and ontological. The organism remembers, at the level of conserved genetic regulatory networks and sensory interfaces, when water was the total environment of sensitivity. This is Epecryon made somatic: the vertigo of deep time arriving not through spectacle but through the temperature shock on closed eyelids and the way water clings to lashes.

STAGONIA

endless interleaking between human and nonhuman

A large horizontal screen lies flat on the floor like a luminous pool of liquid light. The screen is the "mirror" here. From above, real water droplets fall, unpredictable and indifferent. Sometimes quick and light, sometimes pausing in delightful hesitation, occasionally doubling or landing with a gentle, sparkling splash.

Each leaking drop triggers a video of beautiful, human-made water ripples. The coincidence of real water dripping and the digitally disrupted surface has a magical effect on the viewer, who does not know where they are or on which side of the act their perception is on.
